Marching Band

The Silver Sound Marching Band season begins with band camp in July. After band camp, rehearsals are Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. There are occasional rehearsals on Friday evenings and Saturdays.

The Silver Sound performs the half time program at all home football games and select away games. Our first marching band competition of the season is the Seminole Sound Spectacular at Seminole High School in late September. The Silver Sound competes at the Tarpon Springs Outdoor Music Festival in mid-October and MPAs in early November.

The Silver Sound Marching Band Handbook was created by the student leadership and staff to help ensure everyone understands the expectations for all members of the Silver Sound Marching Band. Members and parents are expected to review this handbook. The last page is to be printed, signed, and returned to Mr. Fulton at the start of band camp.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to audition to be part of the Silver Sound Marching Band?
You do not require an audition to be part of the ELHS Marching Band. Although some music background does help, we welcome all students who are willing to learn and put in the effort.

I missed band camp, can I still join the Silver Sound?
Yes! Please contact Mr. Fulton if you are interested in joining the ELHS Silver Sound.

How much time does it take?
We practice each Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-8:00 PM. We play at home football games and a few away games. Each season we have 3-4 competitions which are on Saturdays. We occasionally have a Friday practice when there is an upcoming competition. Many students choose to stay after school and work on homework until practice begins. With over sixty students in band, there is always someone available to help if you need it.
